Book an AYC Charter & Join the Share the Sail 2010 Events

If you like to party with like-minded boaters, join the Latitudes & Attitudes magazine gang for the Anacortes-based, Share the Sail 2010 Cruise the week of August 8-15. The first event of its kind in the United States, organizers anticipate more than 120 boats and upwards of 1,000 people to participate in the flotilla cruise and end-of-the-week, free,  "blowout" Cruiser's Party at Cap Sante Boat Haven August 13th-15th.

As the Lats & Atts dedicated charter provider, AYC will roll out the red carpet for charterers from all over the world, who "share the sail" on any of the three, three- stateroom boats and three, two-stateroom boats available through the organizers. Otherwise, all sailors and power boaters are invited to cruise along for free with the Lats & Atts core flotilla. While the itinerary is designed to be flexible, a possible route includes nights at Spencer Spit State Park on Lopez Island, Friday Harbor Marina, Sucia Island State Park as well as Sydney and Ganges Harbor in British Columbia.

Bookings for that week are going fast, so please call or email AYC to reserve a charter boat (www.ayc.com; 800-233-3004). Those interested in booking a stateroom need to contact Lats & Atts at www.seafaring.com or 888-893-7245.
Sail Into Spring on a Charter Getaway

To celebrate Spring Break, Easter Weekend or the survival of taxes, AYC is here to help you escape for a 3-to-7-night charter in the San Juans. Take advantage of the longer days and record-breaking, warm weather to indulge in some much-needed and greatly deserved rest and relaxation.  Couples or families with kids and grandkids will treasure the adventure, clamming, beachcombing and wildlife viewing.

During early spring choose your getaway vessel from AYC's impressive sail or powerboat fleets. Whether you opt for a 32' Nordic Tug that sleeps four or a 43' Albin that sleeps up to eight, look for about a 25 percent savings in comparison to high season rates.

Where to go on a mini-cruise? Why not circumnavigate Fidalgo Island, running south through protected Swinomish Channel to LaConnor with its great shopping, restaurants and nearby tulip fields. Continue the cruise through Deception Pass and head north to Skyline Marina in Flounder Bay before returning your charter boat to AYC headquarters.

AYC Yacht Brokers Build Long-Term Relationships

AYC Yacht Brokers new brokerage professionals bring decades of combined experience to the yacht buying and selling equation. Vann Chinchen, a former ABC Charters broker, and Fritz Peiffer, formerly of Cap Sante Marine, aspire to build long-term relationships with AYC customers. "We have a tremendous advantage because we are connected to one of the world's finest charter companies," explains Vann. "We can help boaters buy a boat, join the AYC fleet and enjoy the Northwest boating lifestyle."

Vann and Fritz don't just handover the keys and whisper, "Good luck." These guys want to develop solid, on-going associations that are built on trust and the realization of mutual benefits.

With more than 45 listings as well as the 90 vessels in the sail and power fleets, Vann says AYC Yacht Brokerage offers clients a unique opportunity to own and use a boat as a window to the region,  "They can cruise it hard, or use it as a personal condo at the dock while generating revenue to offset expenses." Marysville Couple Wins AYC Boating Course at Seattle Boat Show

Howard and Barbara Sawyer of Marysville won the drawing for a free AYC Boating Course at the Seattle Boat Show. They plan to take the 3-day, Advanced Twin Engine Course in late May.  A former U.S. Navy Nuclear Sub Machinist Mate and small power boat operator most of his life in Northeastern waters, Howard says the course dovetails with the couple's desire to be able to charter in the San Juans and beyond. Someday the couple would like to cruise the Inside Passage and even the Intracoastal Waterway on the East Coast.

When discussing the options, the 53-year-old engineer's excitement about the power course is palatable.  After they pass it, the couple is considering chartering a vessel from AYC for a cruise next summer with their four daughters, their men and new grandchild.  "Given we've always loved boats, looked into chartering and even considered living aboard, this is an incredible opportunity," says Howard. "Winning the course is most fortuitous. It moves us toward a dream."
New Sailboats Boats in the Spotlight

Two, new additions to the AYC Sail Fleet take Pacific Northwest charter sailing to new heights: the Gozzard 36 Sophie and the 49' Bavaria Saga Tiba. The elegant Sophie is the first Gozzard that AYC staff has ever seen available for charter. Built in 1998 with a LOA of 42', this beautifully crafted vessel promises to sleep four on one of the handsomest sailboats available anywhere.

For those who adore the word "palatial," the Saga Tiba (a brand of pure, sweet Brazilian rum) features dual helms and sleeps as many as 11 people. The big Bavaria comes armed with a bowthruster, autopilot and wireless remote as well as every other electronics widget sailors might want. Built in 2003, this gorgeous sailing creature promises to fulfill your family and friends' sailing fantasies.
