Flexibility R Us at AYC

These days AYC is all about accommodation and flexibility. Deep-sixing strict schedules, our goal is to offer more-flexible-than-ever scheduling, even during the busy Red and Gold seasons. We want to make it easy for guests to charter the number of days they want (minimum three days) with the ability to depart any day of the week and to return on the day they want.

Torpedoing the tradition that dictates charters start on a certain day and end on another, AYC invites guests to call to coordinate preferred dates with choices of boats. We now offer this innovative opportunity throughout the year and during the Red Season (June 12 July 2 and Aug. 28 Sept. 24) and the Gold Season (July 3 Aug. 27).

To maximize flexible scheduling during these prime seasons, we need guests to be aware that boats book early. As a result, we may ask them to charter for a minimum of six nights. It would also be helpful if guests identified several attractive vessels so we can more readily accommodate their scheduling parameters. Just give us a heads-up on the best scenario and we will pull out the stops. With the largest fleet in the Pacific Northwest, we can usually accommodate most any request!

Spotlight Dream Destination… Take a 10 Day Cruise to Desolation Sound, B.C. – Where It’s Warm, Dry & Wild Enjoying the San Juans and Gulf Islands along the way….

If the San Juans are a sailor’s sanctuary, then Desolation Sound is the great cathedral of Northwest charter cruising. This summer take an extended, charter cruise to experience the mildest conditions and warmest waters on the British Columbia coast.

The legends are true, too. Refuge Cove on the south shore of West Redondo Island is a great place to snag fuel and an ice cream cone while waiting to rendezvous with friends arriving by floatplane. Then, drop the hook at any or all of these legendary anchorages: Tenedos Bay, Prideaux Haven or Melanie Cove. Later, venture up Homfray Channel where 7,000-foot peaks surround vast fjords, known for the second deepest sounding in North America (2,400-feet). Or set a course up or down Waddington Channel, pausing for a swim in Pendrell Sound, famous for the area’s warmest waters (80 degrees F.).
AYC Yacht Management – It’s a Win-Win Proposition

For the right owner the AYC Yacht Management Program has great benefits. Owners get to enjoy owning and using their own boat in the San Juans and beyond. Because most owners cannot use their vessels 24/7, many appreciate that charter placement can defray 60 to 80 percent of their costs.

For AYC, the program assures charterers can choose from a large fleet of quality power yachts and sailboats. Always on the lookout for comfortable, well-appointed yachts that meet the needs of cruising couples and families, AYC benefits when it can offer guests a broad range of top name, top performing vessels. Even in this tough economy, 2009 proved a great year for charter and we had more demand than boats during several busy summer weeks… now is a great time to pursue this opportunity as we start to really book charters for 2010.
